Michael SaundersThe Health Resources and Services Administration, otherwise known as the HRSA, is an agency operating within the United States Department of Health and Human Services that's generally responsible for enhancing the people's access to health care services for people especially those who are uninsured, isolated or medically vulnerable.
The HRSA has recently constituted the establishment of a new initiative entitled the Building a Medical Home for Multiply Diagnosed HIV positive Homeless Populations – Demonstration Sites Project.
The project is specially designed to award funds that will last for up to five years to support organizations that seek to design, implement and evaluate innovative interventions that could improve timely entry, engagement, and retention in HIV care and supportive services for HIV positive homeless populations.
The innovative interventions are expected to execute models of care that create and support sustainable linkages to mental health, substance abuse treatment and HIV/AIDS primary care services to those HIV positive individuals who are currently homeless or unstably housed.
