Consequently, the objectives of this project intends to include technology development projects that focus greatly on cutting edge advances that could potentially enhance and improve the future of biomedical research.

These sort of projects could be that of the development of brand new instruments of data analysis, or a substantial modification of current mechanisms that are essential in control and data analysis systems.

The National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer for Research Resources is set to administer an annual budget in the amount of $3,000,000 for a project that could last for up tp three years.

The eligible institutions and organizations (awarded with BTRC funds) which will be deemed eligible to participate in this program are the following:

a) Higher Education Institutions such as Public/State Controlled Institutions of Higher Education and Private Institutions of Higher Education

b) Hispanic-serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs), Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions

c) Nonprofit organizations other than institutions of higher education

d) For-Profit Organizations such as Small Businesses

e) State Governments, County Governments, City or Township Governments, Special District Governments, Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Federally Recognized), and Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Other than Federally Recognized)

f) Independent School Districts, Public Housing Authorities/Indian Housing Authorities, Native American Tribal Organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments), Faith-based or Community-based Organizations, and Regional Organizations.

Core Clinical Centers for the Cardiothoracic Surgical Trials Network Program
In keeping with this mission, the National Institutes of Health has partnered with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) to establish the Core Clinical Centers for the Cardiothoracic Surgical Trials Network Program.
