These are but a few of the subjects in which you can earn a college degree by choosing a distance-learning program. While there are many fully accredited online-only colleges and Universities that offer distance learning programs, there are also many traditional colleges and Universities that are adding distance learning to their curricula. Most of these colleges and Universities are accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. Accreditation is an important credential to look for when choosing an online program if you have prior college credits you wish to transfer. Accredited institutions are also more readily recognized and accepted by employers and professional organizations.

You might be concerned about affording a degree through a college that offers distance-learning programs.
