Grants From The National Science Foundation

by:

The United States Federal Government gives great importance to the field of science. The government supports the development of new technologies that have the potential to change the way we live our lives.

The federal government has created an independent agency to ensure that fundamental research and education in all the non-medical fields of science and engineering are pursued.

This agency is called the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Since its creation in 1950, the National Science Foundation has been constantly promoting the progress of science by way of advancing national health and prosperity and financially supporting research and development studies in all the non-medical fields of science and engineering.

The National Science Foundation makes this possible by providing financial assistance to more than 2,000 colleges, universities, K-12 school systems, businesses, informal science organizations and other research organizations throughout the United States.

In most cases, the NSF funds studies that are related to the fields of Biological Sciences, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, and Education and Human Resources.
