The Health Resources and Services Administration(HRSA), under the supervision of the Department of Health and Human Services, is the country's premier agency for citizens who are insured, isolated, or medically vulnerable.



In keeping with this purpose, the HRSA mainly focuses on administering health care grants to eligible individuals, in order to help them obtain safe and quality care. Which is why, the HRSA also offers training to health professionals in rural communities in high hopes of constantly improving their systems of care.



The HRSA has recently developed the competitive Affordable Care Act Capital Development - Immediate Facility Improvements program, which gives funding opportunities to existing grantees of the Health Center Program as they address immediate and pressing financial needs, such as alteration/renovation projects at an existing facility, installation of life safety requirements at an existing facility, associated work required to modernize, improve, and/or reconfigure the interior arrangements or other physical characteristics of a facility.



The Affordable Care Act Capital Development - Immediate Facility Improvements Program will award approximately $100 million to 250-300 existing eligible Health Center Program Grantees.  (continued...)

The National Institutes of Health has formed a collaboration with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) in an effort to establish the Excellence in Hemoglobinopathies Research Award Program wherein both agencies have agreed to financially support the creation of studies that could potentially improve high-impact multi-disciplinary basic and translational research studies in the hemoglobinopathies.

The THCGME program provides payments to cover the cost of brand-new residency and dentistry programs in various community-based and ambulatory primary health care settings, such as health centers.


Combating Autism Act Initiative: National Interdisciplinary Training Resource Center Program
In keeping with this mission, the Health Resources and Services Administration has recently announced the establishment of the Combating Autism Act Initiative: National Interdisciplinary Training Resource Center Program wherein it aims to solicit applications from eligible entities that seek to run and manage a National Interdisciplinary Training Resource Center.
