a) Collate the ideas of several humanities scholars and digital technology specialists in an effort to share advancements in humanities research and teaching by way of using digital technologies

b) Integrate new digital media, multimedia, and text-based computing advances into humanities scholarship and teaching

c) Encourage present and future generations to study humanities and design, develop, and make proper use of digital tools and environments

d) Disseminate the development and creation of new uses for technologies that offer applications to research in the field of the humanities.

The funds that will be awarded under the Institutes for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities Program can range from $50,000 to $250,000.

The institutions and organizations that will be considered eligible to submit an application under the Institutes for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities Program are the following:

a) State Governments

b) County Governments

c) City or Township Governments

d) Special District Governments

e) Public and State Controlled Institutions of Higher Education

f) Native American Tribal Governments

g) Nonprofit organizations

h) Private Institutions of Higher Education.
