3) Manifest exemplary stewardship of collections and make good use of the advances in technology in an effort to facilitate the discovery of cultural heritage and knowledge.
In order for the proposal to gain traction, it should have the following key factors: national impact, collaboration, innovation.
Before submitting any application, interested grant seekers should first bear in mind that the National Leadership Grants has four grant categories, mainly:
1) Advancing Digital Resources
2) Research
3) Demonstration
4) Library Museum Collaboration
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is set to administer funds ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 through planning grants, project grants, and national forum grants.
The institutions and organizations that will be eligible to submit an application under the National Leadership Grants Program are the following:
a) Libraries and museums that are located in one of the 50 States of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, or the Republic of Palau
b) State or local governments
c) Private nonprofit organizations.
