Pawnbrokers work along similar lines, offering cash loans in exchange for personal property such as cameras, jewelry, or electronics. They will hold your property for a month, after which you either need to make a partial payment to extend the contract or pay the loan in full and reclaim your property. These loans usually have higher interest rates than other loans, but can provide not only the money that you need but also the first step towards rebuilding your credit.
