Pawnbrokers work along similar lines, offering cash loans in exchange for personal property such as cameras, jewelry, or electronics. They will hold your property for a month, after which you either need to make a partial payment to extend the contract or pay the loan in full and reclaim your property. One option for this is to get an auto title loan, which grants the lender a legal claim to the title of your vehicle as collateral for the loan.
