terested applicants by giving them the option to apply online or on paper. The deadline of applications will be on December 12, 2011 for paper and online applications. Online applications are to be submitted to the Grants.gov website.

The EPA plans to administer a total of 40 fellowship grants to new eligible applicants by the end of July 2012. Eligible applicants are students who;




  1. are attending a fully accredited College or University, which should be located in the US or in its territories, for their last two years of undergraduate studies and in the entirety of the fellowship period


  2. are legal citizens of the US, its territories and possessions, or be legally admitted to the US for legal residency or a Green Card


  3. have not yet obtained any other bachelor degree and are on their last two years of undergraduate studies, prior to getting a bachelor degree


  4. have at least an average of "B" upon application and during the tenure of the fellowship.



In line with the objectives outlined in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA), the Greater Research Opportunities fellowship program is developed upon the hopes of strengthening the environmental research competencies, notwithstanding the shortage of funds or its inefficiencies.



The Greater Research Opportunities Fellowship program is vital in keeping up with the EPA's effort, along with the US government, to ensure that the United States never falls short in meeting its current and foreseen human resource needs in the fields of environmental, biological, health and social science, and as well as in engineering.
