Furthermore, the databases will also be linked longitudinally at the individual level in order to allow for enhanced opportunities directed towards state and federally-supported education programs that would then result to better information acquisition for the customers and stakeholders of the workforce system.

In cases where longitudinal systems do not exist or are in early development, the Workforce Data Quality Initiative Program funds shall be used to design and develop workforce data systems which are longitudinal in nature and are specifically designed to link with relevant education data or longitudinal education data systems.
In order to support this initiative, the Employment and Training Administration is set to administer funds in the amount of $12,000,000 to distributed to a number of eligible applicants.
The eligible applicants for this solicitation are those State Workforce Agencies which are located within the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.
The United States Department of Labor, the mother agency funding the Workforce Data Quality Initiative Program, is the nation's premiere agency that promotes and protects the welfare of job seekers, wage earners, and retirees through the constant enhancement of their working conditions and the continuous protection of their retirement and health benefits.
More importantly, the agency is also the leader in advancing job opportunities, protecting worker rights, and monitoring national economic measures.
